Soytun: A Multifunctional Ceramic Piece for Raw Fish Tasting

An Elegant and Functional Design Inspired by Nature

Soytun is part of the "NATURA IMITATIS" line of functional eco-design, which aims to imitate nature in its form and function. Its organic design, reminiscent of a fishbone, makes it not only a practical tableware but also an elegant sculptural piece that can serve as a conversation starter.

The design of Soytun takes into consideration the various accompaniments for serving raw fish, such as soy sauce, wasabi, and chopsticks. It features compartments for each of these elements, allowing for a seamless and convenient dining experience. The chopsticks can be rested against the side of the piece when not in use.

Made from enameled high-temperature stoneware, Soytun is a testament to meticulous craftsmanship. Each piece is signed and numbered by hand, adding a personal touch to the design. The gift box, made entirely of recycled cardboard, further emphasizes the eco-friendly nature of the product.

Measuring 140 mm in length, 60 mm in width, and 40 mm in height, Soytun is compact yet spacious enough to accommodate the necessary condiments. The gift box, measuring 165 mm x 165 mm x 70 mm, provides a secure and visually appealing packaging solution.

Soytun was first presented to the public in November 2014 at the Central Market Design in Barcelona, Spain. Since then, it has garnered recognition and acclaim, including the Bronze A' Design Award in 2015. This prestigious award recognizes designs that exhibit technical and creative excellence while contributing to quality of life improvements.
